"Antigen induced myeloma"
In order to make progress in the management of multiple myeloma (MM) we need new drugs and a better understanding of the disease. With this goal in mind our laboratory developed a transgenic mouse in which we have recreated the nature and the timing of the oncogenics events that cause human MM. Our preliminary data show that these mice develop a disease that is a faithful model of the clinical features of human MM. We are planning to use these mice to explore drug therapies that target specific genetics events in MM and to address the factors that are important in disease progression.
