"Translational studies of IGFs/IGF-1R inhibition for the treatment of MM"

This project builds upon our recent studies in our Center, which have shown that various strategies for inhibition of IGF-1R improve the anti-myeloma (MM) activity of standard and new therapies for this disease. Our recent work has shown that IGF-1R inhibitors can be safely administered in animal models of MM and achieve anti-tumor responses, either alone or in combination with other anti-MM therapies. We will therefore define new combination treatment strategies using IGF-1R to enhance the activity of a broad range of other anti-cancer drugs, with the ultimate goal of improving the outcome of patients with MM.
