"Role of GILZ in the blucocorticoid signaling pathway of multiple myeloma"

Glucocorticoids (Dexadron or Prednisone) are among the most effective agents for the treatment of multiple myeloma. These steroid compounds kill myeloma cells but the mechanism of action needs to be better characterized. The expression of a spectrum of genes is regulated by glucocorticoids and appears to play a critical role in promoting cell death. GILZ (glucocorticoid-induced leucine zipper) appears to be one of the central molecules in this pathway and its role will be dissected in this project.
