Charity Navigator

The MMRF has a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America's largest independent evaluator of charitable organizations. Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that the MMRF has demonstrated exceptional fiscal responsibility and health, outperforming most of its peers in its efforts to manage and grow its finances in the most fiscally responsible way possible.

Charity Navigator helps charitable givers make intelligent giving decisions by providing information on over 2,800 charities and by evaluating the financial health of each of these charities.

BBB (Better Business Bureau) Wise Giving Alliance

The MMRF meets all of the BBB’s Wise Giving Alliance Standards for Charity Accountability. Organizations that comply with these accountability standards have provided documentation that they meet the following standards:
  • In how they govern their organization,
  • In the ways they spend their money,
  • In the truthfulness of their representations, and
  • In their willingness to disclose basic information to the public.
The BBB Wise Giving Alliance Standards for Charity Accountability were developed to assist donors in making sound giving decisions and to foster public confidence in charitable organizations. The standards seek to encourage fair and honest solicitation practices, to promote ethical conduct by charitable organizations and to advance support of philanthropy.

National Cancer Institute

The MMRF’s research grants program is approved by the NCI, which means that our research grants issuance process meets the same rigorous scientific standards the NCI applies to its own research grant review process. The MMRF is only one of nine private, charitable research organizations in the United States to receive approval since the NCI started the program nearly 10 years ago.
