I know my mother would have been proud of this collaboration, as she was a great supporter of medical research and a strong believer in focus and commitment, both of which are represented by the MMRF's targeted mission and dedicated efforts toward funding the myeloma research.

It is also comforting for me to know that her name will be connected with the medical progress of an organization as respected and successful as the MMRF. By making a donation to this fund, your support will have a direct impact on tens of thousands of individuals and their families affected by multiple myeloma. I know that the money raised through this collaboration will be applied directly to the most promising myeloma research in the world. It is my hope that the awareness raised through this fund will help educate the general public and encourage them to support our efforts.

In the column I wrote following my mother's death, I mentioned how she believed she got as much sustenance from her readers as they got from her. She was also convinced that if any one thing could serve as a solution to all manner of problems, it was kindness. Your generosity in supporting the Ann Landers Research Fund will help keep my mother's spirit and the legacy of her kindness alive.
