Dr. Anderson graduated from Johns Hopkins Medical School. He trained in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital and completed hematology, medical oncology, and tumor immunology training at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Anderson is the Kraft Family Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and serves as Chief of the Division of Hematologic Neoplasia, Director of the Jerome Lipper Multiple Myeloma Center, and Vice Chair of the Joint Program in Transfusion Medicine at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He received the Waldenstrom's Award in 2003 for his translational research directed to the development of novel therapeutics targeting the myeloma cell in its microenvironment and is a Doris Duke Distinguished Clinical Research Scientist. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of the MMRF, Dr. Anderson serves as Chairman of the MMRF's Scientific Advisory Committee, Chairman of the Multiple Myeloma Research Consortium, and Chairman of the National Comprehensive Cancer
Network's Multiple Myeloma Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee.
Karen E. Andrews

Karen E. Andrews is the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of BBDO Worldwide, Inc. where she is responsible for the management of the legal activities of over 150 individual operating units throughout the world. Prior to joining BBDO Worldwide, Ms. Andrews was Associate General Counsel and Director of Television Business Affairs at Time Inc. Ms. Andrews began her career in law as a Litigation Associate at the New York law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges where she specialized in Entertainment Litigation. Ms. Andrews graduated cum laude from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and earned her law degree, cum laude, from Temple School of Law. Ms. Andrews is a member of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association. In 1997, Ms. Andrews co-founded the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation with Kathy Giusti.

Kathy Giusti is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) and the Multiple Myeloma Research Consortium (MMRC). Following her diagnosis with multiple myeloma, Ms. Giusti founded the MMRF in 1998 to fund innovative myeloma research and drug discovery. Having raised more than $70 million to date, the MMRF is the world’s number one funder of myeloma research. As an extension of the MMRF's mission, Ms. Giusti founded the MMRC in 2004 to enable leading research institutions to work with industry to speed the discovery and development of effective new treatments. Comprised of 13 leading research institutions, the MMRC is widely recognized for breaking down barriers in tissue banking, data management, genomics, and clinical trials and is held as an optimal research model to accelerate the development of new therapies.
Ms. Giusti received for MBA in general management from Harvard Business School and graduated from the University of Vermont magna cum laude with a BS in biological Sciences. She began her career in 1980 with Merck & Co., and later joined the Gillette Company. In 1993, she joined G.D. Searle & Co., where she last served as Executive Director of Searle's worldwide arthritis franchise.
Ms. Giusti received the 1998 Healthcare Businesswomen's Association's Woman of the Year Award, the 2001 Harvard Business School Entrepreneurial Award, the 2002 McCarty Cancer Foundation Humanitarian Award, the 2002 Joseph Michaela Award from the Weill Medical College of Cornell University, the 2005 Harvard Business School Award for Courage and Valor, and the 2006 Partners in Progress Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Ms. Giusti has served on the Institute of Medicine's National Cancer Policy Board and the Cancer Leadership Council. Today, she continues to serve on the National Cancer Advisory Board, an appointment she received in 2003 from President Bush, and is a member of the Board of Directors for IMS Health. Most recently, Ms. Giusti's efforts to advance cancer research and drug development have been featured in The Wall Street Journal and NBC Nightly News.
She lives in New Canaan, Conn., with her husband, Paul, and her children, Nicole, who is 12, and David, who is 9.
