3,2,1 CURE CAMPAIGN

The MMRF’s 3, 2, 1: Cure research campaign will raise $50 million to bring patients the next generation of treatments as quickly as possible and find a cure for multiple myeloma. We cannot get there alone. We need your help today.

We have already helped bring patients four new treatments. But with diminishing funding for early stage drug development and the next myeloma treatments not expected to be approved until 2011, we urgently need your donation to our 3, 2, 1: Cure to fill this gap.

We are already more than halfway toward our goal and have reached powerful milestones in each of 3, 2, 1: Cure’s three paths – Basic Science, Validation, and Clinical Trials:

Path 1: Basic Science research aimed at identifying new targets for which better, more effective treatments can be developed
Through basic science studies supported by 3, 2, 1: Cure, we were the first to map the myeloma genome to learn more about the disease and help identify new targets. We need your support today to validate these targets and identify treatments active against the targets that show the most promise.

Path 2, Validation research aimed at translating basic science discoveries into new drugs for testing in clinical trials
Validation studies supported by 3, 2, 1: Cure have screened and prioritized dozens of novel compounds and combinations and rapidly moved those that show the most promise into clinical trials. We need your donation today to continue to build a robust pipeline of potential new treatments, and to maintain and attract the most talented researchers and committed pharmaceutical and biotech companies to the field of myeloma

Path 3, Clinical Trials of high-priority compounds and combinations treatments Funding from 3, 2, 1: Cure has also advanced 20 Phase I and Phase II clinical trials through our research model, the Multiple Myeloma Research Consortium. We need your support today to advance our clinical research programs and accelerate the development of better, more effective treatments.
