Title:  
Autologous Dendritic Cells Loaded with Idiotype (APC8020i) Combined With Thalidomide for the Treatment of Multiple Myeloma
Phase:  
II
Purpose:  
To determine the safety and effectiveness of administering APC8020i in combination with thalidomide to patients with multiple myeloma
Eligibility:  
  • Currently on thalidomide for at least 8 weeks with no evidence of progression.
  • Measurable disease in the blood
  • Adequate kidney and liver functions
  • No history of cardiac disease
  • No active infection
  • Treatment:  
    Patients will continue to take thalidomide as previously prescribed. Patients will undergo leukapheresis to collect dendritic cells from their blood. These dendritic cells will be used to make APC8020i, a therapeutic cancer vaccine. Patients will then return to receive treatment with the APC8020i vaccine. These procedures will be repeated for a total of 3 leukaphereses and 3 treatments over the course of 5 weeks
