Title:  
Thalidomide With Doxil, Vincristine, and Decadron (DVD-T) for Newly Diagnosed & Relapsed/Refractory Multiple Myeloma
Phase:  
II
Purpose:  
To determine the effectiveness of thalidomide, Doxil®, vincristine, and Decadron® in treating patients with multiple myeloma
Eligibility:  
  • Limited previous Doxil or Adriamycin®
  • No prior malignancy
  • No active infections requiring antibiotics
Treatment:  
Patients receive oral thalidomide every day beginning day 1; Doxil and vincristine via IV on day 1, and oral Decadron on days 1 through 4 of each treatment cycle. (1 cycle = 4 weeks). The study continues for a minimum of 6 treatment cycles. After treatment cycles end, thalidomide continues at the highest-tolerated dose every day, and prednisone begins every other day as maintenance therapy
