Your Funding Will Enable Us to Increase the Success Rate of Drugs in Clinical Trials

Pre–clinical validation has often been slow due to a lack of accurate models for the disease and the lack of
validation expertise. But the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation is addressing this challenge with our Validation
Team, a network of highly skilled researchers specializing in the science of compound validation.
Our Validation Team is now screening our dynamic "pipeline" of compounds, diligently testing every compound against
the best and most predictive validation models and advancing into clinical trials those that show the most potential
in treating patients. Because it is unlikely that a single drug will treat a complex cancer like multiple myeloma,
we are simultaneously validating combinations of compounds—pairing new therapies like Velcade® and Revlimid®
with other promising compounds—to find the best combinations to most effectively treat the disease.
As each new compound is advanced into clinical trials, we stock our pipeline by fostering partnerships
with pharmaceutical and biotech companies that focus on myeloma or that have a promising compound that could be
redirected to the treatment of myeloma. We work hand in hand to rapidly validate these compounds and shepherd those that
show the most promise into rigorously designed clinical trials.
